Reservation to Utilization
Vehicle Reservation
You can make a vehicle reservation through the app by following the steps below:
- Tap the relevant reservation card on the Key screen.
- Then, tap the house name displayed at the top of the screen to open the reservation details.
- Select the + Add button under the car sharing section.
- Choose your preferred vehicle.
- Select your desired dates.
- Choose your preferred pickup and return locations.
- Review your reservation details, then select to make the reservation.
*Reservations via the app can be made until 5:00 PM on the day preceding check-in. Should you wish to make a reservation thereafter, please contact us through the app's concierge service.
*Reservations at *FUKUOKA can only be made by NOT A HOTEL owners including UMITO or those who have made a reservation using a gift. Key sharers cannot create reservations.
License Registration
You can register your driver's license through the app by following these steps:
Have a Japanese driver's license
- Open the My Page.
- Select Driver's License.
- Choose to upload a driver's license.
- Click on select file to upload the front and back images of your driver's license.
- If taking a photo, the camera will activate for you to capture the image. Alternatively, you can select an image from those saved on your device.
- After uploading both the front and back, enter your driver's license number and the expiration date, then choose to register your driver's license.
- Once the license review is complete, you will receive a notification.
Overseas Guests
Residents of Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Monaco, France, and Taiwan
You can drive in Japan by submitting your country's driver's license and Japanese translation.
Please take a picture of your driver's license and Japanese translation and upload it from the application.

Residents of countries other than those listed above
You can drive in Japan by obtaining and submitting an international driver's license that meets the requirements.
Please take two photos of the cover page and the photo page of your international driver's license and upload them from the application.

- Open the My Page.
- Select Driver's License.
- Choose to upload a driver's license.
- Upload the image of your international driver's license and translated text taken above by selecting Select Image from the Select File menu.
- After uploading the image, enter your license number (enter 0000000000000000) and license expiration date, then select Register Driver's License.
- Once the license review is complete, you will receive a notification.
Usage Guide
Usage Hours
For one-day use, you can freely use the room from 9:00 to 19:00 on the day of rental.
If you use the room on consecutive days, you may use it continuously until 19:00 on the last day of use. Fees will be charged from the application along with the cost of your stay after check-out.

Cancellation Fee
No cancellation fee is charged, but please be considerate of other guests and contact the concierge as soon as possible if you wish to cancel.
How to pick up and Return
Pick up
You can operate the app starting 10 minutes before the reservation time. Upon arrival at the loan location, please begin using the car as follows:
- Open the key from the app
- Swipe right to display the Tesla page and tap "Use"
- Press "Start Use"

- Open the key from the app.

Return
Upon arrival at the scheduled return location, ensure you have all your belongings and follow these steps:
- Leave the card key inside the car and lock it using the app
- Press the "End Use and Return" button in the app
- On the next page, press "Return" to complete the return process

Charging
For guests staying multiple nights, upon returning to the hotel, please park the vehicle in its original spot and connect the charging cable.
Should you have any trouble with the connection process, please contact us through the chat in the app.
Important Notes for Use
- To ensure the safety of our customers, the number of passengers must not exceed the number of seatbelts.
- Those required to display a "Beginner" or "Elderly Driver" mark must ensure it is visibly placed while driving.
- The customer is responsible for securing a storage location during the loan period and for the daily inspection and maintenance of the loaned vehicle.
- If you need to change your plans or cannot return the vehicle on time, please inform us in advance via the app's chat. Overdue fees may apply.
Adding a Driver
When utilizing the car share and a passenger wishes to drive, it is imperative that the individual who made the hotel reservation shares the house key with the passenger. Furthermore, registration with NOT A HOTEL as a member and the registration of a driver's license are mandatory.
Sharing the House Key
Please refer to How to Share the Key for instructions on sharing the house key.
The Receiver of the Key Registers Their Driver's License
You can register your driver's license through the app by following these steps:
- Open My Page.
- Select to register a driver's license.
- Choose your driver's license number.
- Upload images of the front and back of your driver's license.
- Enter your driver's license number and the expiration date.
- Click the button to register your driver's license.
- Once registration is complete and reviewed, you will receive a notification confirming the completion of your driver's license registration.
After the license review is complete, it is not necessary to submit the driver's license each time you use the car share. Should your license be renewed, please submit it again.
In the Event of Violations or Accidents
During Use Obligation to Pay Fines for Illegal Parking
Should a parking violation occur while utilizing the car share, it is the customer's responsibility to appear at the police station governing the area, complete the prescribed procedures, and promptly pay the fine. Upon return, you must present the traffic violation notice and a payment receipt or receipt with a seal. If you cannot present these documents (meaning payment of the fine cannot be confirmed), we will hold an amount equivalent to the parking violation fine.
In this case, after returning the car share and paying the fine, presenting the traffic violation notice and a receipt with a seal at the office will result in a full refund of the amount held.
In the Event of an Accident
Should an accident occur, immediately stop driving and ensure the following steps are taken:
- Provide aid to any injured parties.
- Report the incident to the police and file a report.
- Contact the emergency contact through the NOT A HOTEL app.

Exclusions from Insurance and Coverage Programs
Please adhere to the rental agreement and use the car share responsibly. Should any damages arise from accidents occurring under the following conditions or states of operation, you will be held financially responsible. In such cases, the application of the aforementioned insurance and compensation schemes included in the basic fee will be denied. If we pay damages that you are obligated to cover, you must promptly reimburse us for those amounts.

If the necessary procedures, including contacting the police and our company from the accident scene, have not been carried out
- Regardless of the extent of the damage, whether there was a counterparty involved, or whether you were the perpetrator or the victim, you must contact both the police and our company immediately. (According to Article 72 of the Road Traffic Law concerning measures to be taken in the event of a traffic accident) *In the case of at-fault accidents not covered by insurance, you may be liable for the damages.

In case of violation of the rental agreement
- Violations of the Road Traffic Law or other laws, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, unauthorized extension of the rental period, driving by someone other than the borrower or the driver specified at the time of rental, subleasing, driving without a license, reckless driving, using the car share in violation of public order and morals, settling without our consent, or if cooperation for the resolution of the accident is not provided, etc.

If it falls under the exemptions of the insurance policy or compensation system, or if payment is excluded
- Damages caused intentionally, by drinking, drug use, punctures or tire damage, loss of wheel caps, etc., as well as damages to properties owned, used, or managed by the customer (borrower or driver).

In case of negligence in use or management
- Damages resulting from parking the car with the keys left inside leading to theft, damages caused by improper parking, contamination or odor inside the vehicle (including smoking inside non-smoking vehicles), loss or improper handling and fitting of equipment, wrong fueling, damages from driving off-road such as on beaches or riverbeds, etc.
Options
Car Navigation System (GPS)
The car navigation system comes as standard equipment on all vehicles, complimentary of charge. For instructions on how to operate it, please consult with our staff on-site before departure.
Child Safety Seat
In accordance with road traffic regulations, drivers are mandated to use child restraint systems (child safety seats) when transporting children under the age of six. Should a child safety seat not be available, we regret to inform you that the vehicle cannot be loaned. It is imperative that you reserve one in advance, free of charge, although availability is limited.
- The installation of the child safety seat is the responsibility of the customer, and although our staff may assist in the process, the final safety check rests with the customer.
- We cannot accept liability for any accidents that may arise due to improper installation of the child safety seat.
- Should the child safety seat be damaged or lost due to negligence in handling or management by the customer, we may require compensation for the costs incurred.
- When bringing your own child restraint systems (including belt-type devices), it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the product is certified (indicated by an E-mark) and that its usage range is appropriate for the child's physique. Please understand that we are unable to assess the suitability of the product for your child.
Accompanying pets
Should you wish to travel with a pet, it is necessary to declare this intention at the time of booking and to adhere to the stipulations outlined in the rental agreement.
Notes
- NOT A HOTEL NASU equips its vehicles with studless tires from December to March
- NOT A HOTEL KITAKARUIZAWA equips its vehicles with studless tires from December to May
- Any other provisions related to the lending of vehicles will be governed by the separate "Lending Terms and Conditions" established by NOT A HOTEL
- Should there be any conditions specifically stipulated, they will take precedence over the information provided in this guide
- Please be aware that the details mentioned in this guide, including rates, fees, and compensation amounts, are subject to change without prior notice.
